Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Radamel Falcao as a “great player” but insists the Colombian will not be making a move to Real Madrid any time soon.
Monaco striker Falcao has missed the Ligue 1 side’s last three matches with a thigh injury, with the 27-year-old dismissing speculation that his absence was evidence of an imminent move away from the club.
Real have been linked with a move for the man who was lured from city rivals Atletico for a reported €60million in May this year, but Ancelotti played down the link.
“Falcao is a great player, but – as I said – at this moment we are very happy with all our strikers,” Ancelotti said.
“We are scoring many many goals and we are combining well. For that, currently I don’t think Falcao is a player for us.”
Prior to his injury-enforced lay-off, Falcao had scored nine goals in 14 French top-flight matches.
But goals have come freely for Ancelotti’s charges this term, with Real’s 44 strikes from 15 games the highest tally in La Liga
