Per Mertesacker was seen berating Mesut Ozil for failing to applaud Arsenal's away fans after the 6-3 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.
The Gunners endured a frustrating day at the Etihad Stadium to round off a disappointing week which also saw them drop points against Everton and lose to Napoli in the Champions League.
The victory for City means they are now just three points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, and Ozil let his anger show at the final whistle when he refused to go over to show his appreciation to the Gunners fans.
Arsenal's captain-for-the-day Mertesacker ran over to his team-mate to tell him to applaud the supporters, however, the former Real Madrid player appeared to ignore him.
When asked about the frustration in the dressing room following the loss, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger replied: "Of course we want to win and we are very sad tonight. We lost a big game and we know our season depends on winning big games."
